The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City’s housing and financial literacy programs received a boost in the form of a $15,000 donation from the Arvest Foundation.

The gift was announced recently at the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City. Leslie Johnson, small business underwriting manager for Arvest Bank in Oklahoma City was on hand to present the check.

Representatives of the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City thanked Arvest for its long-term partnership and expressed appreciation for its support, specifically the housing and literacy programs that will benefit from this most recent donation.

“I am proud to serve on the board of directors for the Urban League of Oklahoma City, and it was my honor to present a check to them from the Arvest Foundation,” Johnson said. “The funds will be used to support housing and financial literacy programs that are vital to helping the Urban League accomplish its mission of assisting African-Americans, other minorities, and the underprivileged to achieve social and economic equality.”
