Arvest Bank associates in Flippin recently held a fundraiser cookout for Sematronix in an effort to reduce hunger in North Central Arkansas.

Arvest associates cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and provided side items for the employees. Sematronix provided a donation in exchange for the meals. The group raised more than $650, which will provide more than 3,250 meals to the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas’ Backpack Program, as well as other backpack programs in the area.

“We are very appreciative to the employees at Sematronix who participated in our cookout,” said Tiffany Watkins, assistant vice president and marketing director for Arvest Bank in North Central Arkansas. “This is a great example of how a business can support the needs our local community. The donations from this one day are a great benefit to so many in our community who face food insecurity.”

For every dollar that is donated, the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas can provide five meals to those in need.

The cookout was held in support of Arvest Bank’s 8th Annual 1 Million Meals campaign, which continues through June 2. The campaign challenges associates, customers and the community to donate nonperishable food items or monetary donations at any Arvest Bank location in the 120 communities the bank serves. Each community supports a local food partner, so every local donation stays local.

Donations can also be made by calling (866) 952-9523. Arvest credit card customers can donate Arvest Flex Rewards™ points by visiting and clicking on the 1 Million Meals banner. Arvest customers can also donate through the Arvest GO mobile banking app on their smartphone. Every dollar raised through 1 Million Meals provides the equivalent of five meals for those in need.
