Arvest Bank in Harrison is taking preorders for a fundraiser that will take the work off the Easter Bunny this Easter, while also raising money for a local food pantry.

Bank associates will decorate the yards of Harrison residents with surprise-filled Easter Eggs the evening of Saturday, March 31, the eve of Easter Sunday.  Three different options are available; 35 eggs for $30, 55 eggs for $40 or 75 eggs for $50.  All of the money raised will benefit Ozark Share and Care, a local emergency services program that houses a food pantry and provides other necessary items.

“Food insecurity is a problem that affects every community across America and it will always be an issue that needs our attention,” said Scott Tennyson, market president of Arvest Bank in Harrison. “While we can’t solve the problem altogether, we can respond as a community to consistently share our resources with those who don’t have food for every meal.”

Tennyson said the Easter Egg fundraiser is a grassroots effort that is part of Arvest Bank’s annual 1 Million Meals campaign.  The two-month campaign, that is in its eighth year, challenges Arvest associates, customers and the general public to donate non-perishable food items or monetary contributions at any Arvest Bank location across the four-state footprint of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas the bank serves.  The goal of the initiative is to collect the equivalent of one million meals that will be donated to local food pantries and other hunger relief organizations or programs.  All donations remain local.

In the Harrison community alone, Arvest Bank has raised 181,830 meals for local food partners since the 1 Million Meals campaign began in 2011.
