Congratulations to Rogers Heritage High School for winning its third Arvest Hoopfest Championship in a row!

Rogers Heritage defeated Mt. Vernon (Mo.), 60-34 and Waynesville (Mo.), 64-44 to go 2-0 before the final day of the tournament was canceled due to the threat of winter weather conditions. Those wins and the War Eagles’ margin of victory gave them a tiebreaker championship over Rogers High School.

The Mounties also went 2-0, defeating Carl Junction (Mo.), 54-50 and Fort Smith Southside, 64-49. The 14th annual event was held at War Eagle Arena on Dec. 6-7.

Rogers Heritage point guard Ernesto Rodriguez scored a team-best 16 points to go along with 6 steals and 4 assists in the decisive win against Waynesville. Ethan Carpenter and Jason Kimball added 12 points each. The War Eagles blew open a close game by starting the fourth quarter on a 10-2 run.

Rogers Heritage was awarded the team championship plaque, and War Eagles players were presented with individual medals. The runner-up Mounties also received individual medals.
