Arvest Bank is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement to sell one of its existing facilities to the Harrison Convention & Visitors Bureau at a reduced price as an in-kind gift.

The Harrison Convention & Visitors Bureau currently leases space at 200 W. Stephenson Ave., a building previously owned by Bear State Financial, Inc. Arvest took over ownership of the building via its acquisition of Bear State.

As a result, Arvest has decided to sell the building to the Harrison Convention & Visitors Bureau at a greatly reduced price of $20,000.

“The Harrison Convention & Visitors Bureau is an important organization in our community and provides many benefits for those of us who call this area home,” said Scott Tennyson, market president for Arvest in Harrison. “We are glad to reach this agreement that will not only allow the bureau to stay in the place it has called home for several years, but also to own a larger space that it can leverage for numerous uses in the future.

“This gift also reflects our shared commitment to the growth and vitality of our downtown area.”

As a sign of appreciation, the Harrison Convention & Visitors Bureau will name the building’s existing board room the Arvest Bank Conference Room.

“We appreciate the generosity Arvest Bank has shown in helping us reach this agreement,” Harrison Convention & Visitors Bureau executive director Matt Bell said. “We look forward to continuing to fill our role in the Harrison community, and this expanded workspace will help us do that. This agreement also is one that will provide long-term financial benefits to the bureau.”
