Proceeds benefit the backpack program at the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas as part of our 1 Million Meals initiative.
MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – Chili’s in Mountain Home will hold an all-day “Give Back” event to help reduce hunger in Mountain Home and Baxter County.
On Wednesday, April 26, Chili’s will donate 10 percent of every ticket sale made between 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. to the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas. Mountain Home residents must present a “Give Back” event flier with their meal in order for 10 percent of their meal ticket to be donated to the effort. Fliers may be picked up at any Arvest Bank location in Mountain Home.
Proceeds benefit the food bank’s backpack program, in addition to other hunger relief organizations that also operate a backpack program. Such programs provide food for children on weekends and holidays, when they are facing food insecurity because they don’t have access to their school meal programs.
“We hope the Mountain Home community will join us for lunch or dinner at Chili’s on this day, so we can help stock the shelves at the food bank and support our other area backpack programs as well,” said Sally Gilbert, market president for Arvest Bank in Mountain Home. “This is an easy way for all of us to contribute and we hope this event will raise awareness of the problem of food insecurity right here at home.”
Chili’s “Give Back” event is in support of Arvest Bank’s 7th annual 1 Million Meals campaign that challenges bank associates, customers and community members to participate in fundraising efforts and nonperishable food drives to fight hunger in the more than 120 communities the bank serves. A one-dollar donation provides five meals.
The goal of the two-month, bank-wide effort is to collect enough food or monetary donations to provide at least one million meals to local, hungry families. Donations may be dropped off at any Arvest Bank location by June 3 or by calling (866) 952-9523. Arvest credit card customers also can donate Arvest Flex Rewards™ points by visiting arvestflexrewards.com and clicking on the 1 Million Meals banner.
