Arvest Bank is pleased to host one of the most-anticipated early season boys basketball tournaments in the area, the Arvest Classic.

The Arvest Classic will be held Nov. 30-Dec. 2, and hosted by Springfield’s (Mo.) Parkview High School. Formerly known as the MBCA Hall of Fame Classic, this year’s eight-team tournament features two other local schools, Springfield’s Kickapoo High School and Nixa High School.

Five out-of-area teams will compete as well. Those teams are: De Smet Jesuit, Fayetteville (Ark.), Lafayette (Wildwood), Lafayette (St. Joe), and Raytown.

“The start of basketball season is always an exciting time, and we’re looking forward to seeing these teams in action,” Arvest Bank Springfield president Brad Crain said. “In addition to providing these teams with what we expect to be highly competitive games, the Arvest Classic should help them prepare for their conference seasons as well. We can’t wait for tip-off.”

Lafayette (Wildwood) will play Lafayette (St. Joe) in the opener at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30. That game will be followed by Nixa vs. Fayetteville (Ark.). Host Parkview will play De Smet Jesuit at about 7 p.m., and Kickapoo will take on Raytown in the opening-day finale.

Friday games also start at 4 p.m., while Saturday’s action begins at 11 a.m. The tournament championship game is expected to start at about 4 p.m. on Saturday.
