In 2016 Arvest in Greater Kansas City donated over $12,000 to 15 local charities through their Casual for a Cause program. Casual for a Cause allows associates to support their local community by making a donation to the month’s featured charity for the opportunity to wear jeans on Fridays. Charities are selected from a list of associate recommendations and every month information about the charities and their mission is shared with associates to not only generate financial support but also awareness for the charity.
Charities featured in 2016 included Reach Out and Read, Harvest America, Pro Deo, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Harvesters, ECKAN, Segs for Vets, Franklin County Cancer Center, Kiwanis Club of KCMO, Kansas State School for the Blind, MOCSA, ALS Association, United Way, Red Bag Christmas Families and Cystic Fibrosis.
Associates enjoy the opportunity to give back to organizations that have provided assistance to their family, friends or members of their local community. The Greater Kansas City Charitable Committee is in the process of selecting the Casual for a Cause recipients for 2017. Once again, associates are looking forward to making a positive impact on their local community.
