Raul Duran Recognized as KC Chamber 2016 Ace Award Winner

Raul Duran, Community Development Officer for Arvest Bank in Kansas City, was awarded the 2016 Ace Award at the Power of Diversity Breakfast on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. As part of the recognition, Raul was highlighted with a short video, a profile in Grow KC magazine and other chamber publications as well as getting the distinction of joining an exclusive list of Kansas City’s best diversity and inclusion advocates.

The criteria for the Ace Award included improving workplace culture, impacting the organization’s success, demonstrating leadership by upholding the organization’s core values and promoting diversity and inclusion in the organization — just to name a few! 
Raul leads the community development team in Greater Kansas City focusing on improving the quality of life for the urban core community by bridging the gap between the under-banked, underserved and the mainstream. His work has created a path to serve a more diverse audience as well as help customers achieve financial success with his mentorship and guidance.
In 2015, Raul completed nearly 400 hours of volunteer time while also serving on the board of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Harvest America, Accessible Arts and Kansas State School for the Blind. In addition, he serves on the City of Olathe Human Relations Commission, the Westside Action for Youth (WAY) Coalition Steering Committee and the Olathe Latino Coalition. He also assists with the Olathe Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. 
We are proud of the impact Raul has made on the Kansas City community and are thankful for his leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion amongst the customer base that we serve as well as within our internal network of associates. Congratulations, Raul!
