Arvest Hoopfest Winner in Rogers, Ark.

The 12th annual Arvest Hoopfest wrapped up on Dec. 10 with hosting team Rogers Heritage High School of Arkansas named the champions after defeating Missouri’s Webb City High School by a score of 65 to 51 in the final game.

The three-day tournament started on Dec. 8 with four teams each from Arkansas and Missouri. This was the ninth consecutive year teams from outside of Arkansas have participated in the tournament, which began in 2005 and is sponsored each year by Hight-Jackson Associates PA.

Participating Arkansas teams included Rogers High School, Rogers Heritage High School, Fort Smith Southside High School and Clarksville High School. Teams from Missouri included Mt. Vernon High School, Webb City High School, Carl Junction High School and Waynesville High School.
 
This year two student athletes were named co-MVPs: Seth Stanley of Heritage High School and Trey Gibson of Webb City High School. Nine of their fellow players were chosen for the All Tournament Team.

The All Tournament Team members are: Ty Olsen, Heritage High School; Jake Benninghoff, Rogers High School; Trent Smith, Carl Junction High School; Juan Hernandez, Clarksville High School; Terrell Kabala, Webb City High School; Jarrett Massie, Mount Vernon High School; Zion Releford, Fort Smith Southside High School; Tony Casey, Rogers High School; Mekhi Burnett, Clarksville High School; Shaq Fregiste, Waynesville High School; and Tavon Diplama, Waynesville High School.
