“The Boys Shelter is a very, very special project for me,” said Nita Newman, a Fort Smith, Ark., resident who likes to volunteer in her community. “I certainly get more out of it than I give. It makes me feel good and happy to see their faces light up when they see me. It’s really a very satisfying thing. I think that’s what we’re supposed to do; we’re supposed to help people.”

To learn how Nita helps 12 boys ages 7-13, read her story at the Times Record*.

Nita Newman’s story is part of Arvest Bank’s People Helping People series featuring citizens giving back to their community.
