Honoring Veterans at Fayetteville, Ark. Reception

Join us in honoring our veterans at a reception on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Arvest Bank on the Fayetteville, Ark., Square. The reception will include a brief program of patriotic songs and speakers to recognize Veterans Day. 

The featured speaker will be Carter Maxey, who served with the 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, TOW Company Light, as a “force ready” supply specialist and unofficial scout of his platoon. He is currently the Division Marketing Manager for Arvest Bank’s Mortgage Division.
 
Maxey spent 25 years as vice president and general manager of the Better Homes and Gardens real estate franchise in Tulsa, which included a residential construction division and in-house mortgage brokerage. He was one of 15 national instructors for Better Homes and Gardens and GMAC real estate services. He is a certified continuing educational instructor for both Oklahoma and Arkansas real estate commissions. 
 
Before joining the banking industry, Maxey spent four years trading securities with a proprietary trading firm, T3Live, in New York and completed the Series 65 educational requirements for securities trading. He is currently serving a 4-year term as a National Indian Gaming Commissioner. 
 
Michael For will also be speaking. Ford retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class and now serves as chaplain and Honor Guard team leader for VFW Post 3031. Ford holds a doctorate in occupational safety education and currently serves as a safety officer for Team Rubicon Disaster Relief. He serves as a storm spotter for OkArk Skywarn Tulsa and the Benton County Department of Emergency Management. 
 
The VFW Post 3031 Color Guard will open and close the program.
