The June 12 Friday Financial Forum was packed as the string quartet from the visiting New York Amici Orchestra brought Bartlesville, Okla.’s premier OK Mozart International Music Festival* to the forum, complete with traditional OK Mozart costumed greeters. The pre-forum concert began with strains of classical compositions filling the Celebrity Room while a breathtaking presentation of Oklahoma photography by Jerry Poppenhouse streamed behind the musicians.

Nearing the end of the performance, the Amici quartet invited Jim Bohnsack to add his own special performance of a country classic by Johnny Cash. While Jim began singing the familiar words of ‘Ring Of Fire,” the tune took on a very special timbre with the accompaniment of 200 and 300 year old violins and custom handmade cellos. And when the audience joined in on the chorus, it most certainly was a unique meeting of classical and country at the forum!
