Record Setting Shred-A-Thon in Arkansas

Arvest raised a record-setting $2,100 for the Humane Society at a shred event in North Central Arkansas.

YELLVILLE, Ark. – Arvest Bank held the 6th annual Shred-A-Thon event on April 25 at the Mountain Home East branch to raise money for the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas. A record-setting $2,100 was raised for the Humane Society and 4.38 tons of paper was shredded. 

Tiffany Watkins, assistant vice president and marketing officer for Arvest in North Central Arkansas said, “We are so grateful for everyone that helped make this event a success. So many associates, friends and volunteers took time out of their day to contribute to the local humane society. We’re also thrilled to have a raised a record-setting amount of money that will go to such a great cause.”

The Shred-A-Thon is sponsored by Arvest and Shred-it each year, and provides an environmentally friendly way to discard unwanted paper and sensitive documents in a secure manner. Since 2010, more than 32,000 pounds of paper have been shredded and recycled. In that same time, $7,700 has been raised for the Mountain Home community.
