In 2013, Arvest associates in greater Kansas City donated $13,968.16 to 23 local charities through their Casual for a Cause Program. Casual for a Cause allows associates to support their local community by making a donation to the month’s featured charity for the opportunity to wear jeans on Fridays. Charities are selected from a list of associate recommendations and every month, information about the charities and their mission is shared with associates to not only generate financial support but also awareness for the charity.

Featured charities in 2013 included Special Olympics, Down Syndrome Guild, Lee Ann Britain Infant Center, Myasthenia Gravis Association, Head Start of Shawnee Mission, reStart, Inc., Harvest America, First Book, Solace House, Cystic Fibrosis, ALS – Keith Worthington Chapter, Hillcrest Transitional Housing, Bags of Fun KC, Christmas in October, Harvesters, ECKAN, KC Friends of Alvin Ailey, Ali Kemp Foundation, Children’s Mercy Cancer Centers, Bridge Home for Children, Blue Hills Community Services, and Credit and Homeownership Education Services.

Associates appreciate the opportunity to give back to those organizations that have provided assistance to their family, friends or members of their local community. The greater Kansas City sponsorship team is in the process of selecting the Casual for a Cause charities for 2014 based on associate nominations. While we typically do not accept unsolicited requests for this specific program, we will always take nominations via the online form for other forms of giving/support. Associates are once again looking forward to making a positive impact on their local community!
