Come hear about the U.S. economic outlook at the Fort Smith Regional Economic Outlook Forum on July 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon program will feature Kermit Kuehn, Director of the Center for Business Research and Economic Development at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith College of Business.

The special guest speaker will be Kevin Kliesen, Business Economist and Research Officer with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. His remarks will discuss how despite considerable monetary and fiscal stimulus the past few years, the recovery from the Great Recession has been slower than usual and uneven compared with recent economic recoveries. He’ll explore if the U.S. economy will finally find its footing in 2014, or if the economy will continue to grow. Kliesen will look in the context of what is the economy’s normal pace of growth and discuss if there’s a new normal.

The forum will take place at the Reynolds Room, Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith.

R.S.V.P by July 8 by contacting Whitney Yoder at the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce at (479) 783-3111 or whitney@fortsmithchamber.com. Tickets are $15.

Arvest and the University of Arkansas Fort Smith are hosting the event.
