As part of our Pay It Forward endeavors, different groups of Arvest associates in Northwest Arkansas were given $100 to perform random acts of kindness in the community.

A group of associates in the Special Assets Division in Rogers, Ark., wanted to stretch the $100 as far as possible. They asked a few business associates if they’d like to help Pay It Forward and they did!  Capstone Commercial Advisors donated snacks, Weichert Realty contributed koozies, and WACO Title provided post-it notes and pens. Because the Arvest team had so many ideas, they each contributed additional money from their own pockets so they could carry out the ideas. Here’s what they did!

Goodie Bags for Senior Citizens: Arvest associates went to Apple Blossom Retirement Residence and Innisfree Senior Living Community in Rogers and visited residents while handing out 45 goodie bags. Each bag contained something a little different, but consisted of items like a Christmas ornament, large print word search book, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, snack food, Kleenex, chapstick, soda can koozies, note pads and pens. The residents were pleasantly surprised!

Grocery Purchase: Arvest associates also visited a grocery store in Rogers and purchased groceries for a senior citizen there. She was very surprised and extremely grateful!

Care Package and Goodie Bags for Soldiers: The Arvest team made a large care package for a soldier stationed overseas. The package had a wide variety of food items some healthy but mostly good old American junk food like M&M’s, sunflower seeds, Twizzlers, cookies, Tootsie pops, bubble gum, etc. Additionally, the package included a toothbrush, toothpaste, playing cards, dominoes, a dice game, and personal notes thanking the soldier for his service and explaining the Pay It Forward project. The package also included three individual goodie bags so the soldier could Pay It Forward by handing those out to three soldiers in his unit.

The associates loved participating in the Pay It Forward project and can’t wait to do it again!
