Conner-Hankins Funeral Home opened its doors in Mountain Home, Ark., in September 2010 to provide a lower cost alternative for funeral services. It is owned and operated by John and Jackie Conner and Colby and Casey Hankins.

John Conner began his career in funeral service in 1983. He served with Rouer Funeral Homes and was a business partner at Kirby-Conner-Boaz Funeral Home in Mountain Home, Ark. John took a leave of absence from the funeral business but was continually asked when he was going to open his own funeral home. Colby Hankins lived with the Conners while he attended the mortuary science program at Arkansas State University in Mountain Home. John and Colby decided the time was right and opened Conner-Hankins Funeral Home* September 1, 2010.

Conner-Hankins Funeral Home is a lower cost alternative to the high cost of funeral services in the Twin Lakes, Ark. area. Conner-Hankins Funeral Home prices are approximately 40 percent less than the published price lists of competitors and maintains a warm, home-like atmosphere where people can relax and not feel intimidated or uncomfortable. Lower prices, a warm and friendly atmosphere, and a strong commitment to family values are a few of the things that set them apart from the competition.

John and Colby believe a person's life should be memorialized in a way the family wants and not what is most convenient for the funeral home staff. To achieve this they offer services like the ability to rearrange the chapel into a more informal setting for visitations, gatherings of family and friends, or funeral services. Coffee and cookies are served and families are encouraged to bring personal items of their loved one to display. This personalization of services is another thing that sets Conner-Hankins Funeral Home apart.

“We appreciate Arvest Bank for providing the funding for the funeral home,” said John Conner and Colby Hankins, owners of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home. “Arvest was able to see the need for Conner-Hankins in Mountain Home. Their investment in our venture is an investment in our community.”
