Biz Spotlight: The Wooden Spoon in Gentry, Ark.

Nine years ago, Cam Klassen and Jane Klassen opened a small restaurant in Gentry, Arkansas and opened a bank account with Arvest Bank in Siloam Springs.

Today, the Wooden Spoon experience includes good, home-style, made-from-scratch food in an atmosphere cultivated to allow people to connect with their neighbors in a friendly, relaxing way. Their fresh-made desserts change daily, mainly because they sell out very quickly.

The food, atmosphere and the excellent service from the exceptional staff has made this restaurant a regular lunch or dinner destination for many in Northwest Arkansas. It has expanded and remodeled more than once in order to continue accommodating its growing clientele.

Most diners agree that a seat inside the restaurant at 1000 South Gentry Boulevard is well worth the usual wait.  For those without the time to wait, there is a take-home meal option. However, don’t wait too long to order it; take-home meals can sell out most days, too.

And their bank account?

“Without our friends at Arvest Bank it is unlikely that we would be where we are today,” said Cam Klassen. “They have always been ready to listen to us and help us with our financial needs.”

“Being part of that community of neighbors is a big part of what makes the staff of Arvest Bank such a valued partner in the Wooden Spoon’s continued success,” Klassen said.

Klassen also feels safe working with the Arvest staff because they bring an appropriate level of conservatism to their relationship, while keeping an eye on the future.

“We also appreciate the programs they offer in the way of online banking, credit card operation and business management — a well-rounded service,“ Klassen said.

On behalf of Arvest, we appreciate these wonderful customers, Cam and Jane Klassen, for the wonderful food they serve, their involvement in their local community and loyalty to Arvest Bank.
